Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to attend college full-time. Applicants must have demonstrated their commitment to civil liberties through activism. Previous winners have been involved in programs related to racial diversity, rights of disabled students, women’s equality, freedom of religion, freedom of expression and equality for all. Students with GPAs of less than 3.0 must submit an explanation of their grades.
