Applicants must pass all three parts of the Massachusetts Teachers Test. They must be teaching at a Massachusetts public school in the same year that the award is used and they must be residents of the state. Applicants must also enroll in graduate courses at one of the nine Massachusetts State College campuses or the University of Massachusetts.
