Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who live in one of the following North Carolina or South Carolina counties: Mecklenburg, Gaston, Catawba, Union, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Lincoln, Rowan, Caldwell, Stanly, Iredell, Alexander, Burke, Robeson, Scotland, Richmond, Anson, Cumberland, York, Lancaster, Chesterfield, Marlboro or Dillon. They must be accepted at or planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must submit a written or recorded presentation on the dangers of drunk driving along with their applications. Selection is based on academic achievement, standardized test scores, extracurricular activities and presentation.
