Applicants must be survivors of firefighters, law enforcement officers or emergency medical technicians who died as a result of injuries received while on official duty. The tragedy must have occurred before the student turned 21. They must be seeking a bachelor's or vocational degree, and funding is only available to those who earn such degrees within a 36-month or eight semester period.
